Why i volunteer

When I arrived at Song of Travel I was planning to stay two nights. After extending my stay with another night I decided I just couldn’t leave this wonderful place. I ended up spending three weeks at the hostel helping the staff around at the bar and doing lots of activities with guests from so many different countries.

Together with Paco, the other volunteer who was here at the same time I was, we tried to make sure everyone had a great time during their stay here. It was an amazing way to learn more about the culture and country, meet so many nice and friendly people and be able to explore all the ins and outs of Nyaung Shwe.

Fiona and Erica are doing such a great job providing people with a home away from home in this hostel. It really felt like a second home for me during the (too short) period I have been here. I ended my stay here with a great dinner and party on Christmas Eve. Best Christmas I could have in Asia!
